You must have: •A Bachelor's degree (BA) in Conference Interpreting (4 years)•Or, a Master's degree (MA) in Conference Interpreting•Or, any other Bachelor's degree and a postgraduate degree in Conference Interpreting from at least one academic year of full-time studies.•Or, at least one year of work experience as a conference interpreter at international meetings (experience as a court interpreter, whisper interpreter, social interpreter or company interpreter does not count).

The tests are also scheduled based on the institutions' needs. An indicative schedule of pre-selection and accreditation tests is published annually and is subject to change. Please ensure you submit all required documents before the application deadline.

If your application meets the admission requirements according to the interinstitutional admissions committee and you have the desired language profile, you will be invited to take an online pre-selection test. You will be required to simultaneously interpret a speech of approximately 10-12 minutes into Arabic. The admissions committee will choose one of the following languages as the passive language: Dutch, German, English, Spanish, French, or Italian. You may take the test once you receive an email invitation. Please ensure you do so before the test period expires. You can take the test wherever you like, as long as your device meets all the technical requirements. We recommend finding a quiet environment for optimal sound quality. Therefore, you should carefully read the pre-selection test application manual. Once the assessment is complete, the European Parliament's test team will send you the test results.

If you pass the pre-selection test, you may be invited to take the accreditation test, depending on our testing capacity and workload. The accreditation test includes the following for each of the languages tested: • Consecutive interpretation of a speech (approximately 6 minutes). • Simultaneous interpretation of a speech (10-12 minutes). You will be required to interpret from your passive languages into Arabic and/or return interpretation, depending on the languages selected by the Admissions Committee from your profile and the needs of the interpreting services. At least one of the speeches will be on a topic related to the Arab world. Video recordings of speeches may be used for simultaneous interpretation. You will have five minutes to prepare for the simultaneous interpretation test. In the booth, you will hear the title of the speech and a brief introduction by the speaker. You will then have a maximum of five minutes to prepare before the actual test begins. You are free to decide how you use this time. You can also start earlier if you wish. In the booth, you will be provided with a desktop computer with a QWERTY keyboard. In the event of an unexpected technical problem, please inform the jury immediately. The accreditation test will take place in your city/country. See the schedule! The jury will assess your performance based on the marking criteria. If you also pass the accreditation test, you will be included in the Go Arabic database of accredited interpreters. The three interpreting services of the Arab World can rely on this database. Being included in the database does not necessarily guarantee employment.

Now that you know all the steps, you can complete the online application form. You will be asked to submit the following documents: • Your CV. • Your diplomas and/or certificates with a grade list for the various interpreting disciplines. • Where applicable: proof of sufficient experience as a conference interpreter (experience as a court interpreter, whisper interpreter, social interpreter, or company interpreter does not count).
