Below you'll find instructions on how to look up a synonym in an online Arabic dictionary. Click on the image to enlarge the screenshots.

• Go to Almaany's Arabic-English dictionary (see screenshot).
• Or go directly to Arabic-English dictionary.
• Enter the word you want to look up a synonym for, for example بَيْتٌ and click 'ابحث' (search).

• You will now get all the results with the letters

ب ي ت. Look for the correct meaning, which you get from the context of the sentence.

• Behind the Arabic word, you'll find its synonym, in this case منزل. This is the 6th result.



Important note

The dictionary doesn't provide synonyms for every word. I often write down a short description of the word in Arabic or look up the synonym in an Arabic-Arabic dictionary.
